Just north of San Diego County the city of Temecula has approved the construction of an Islamic Center despite worries from residents that it would invite extremist activities and cause traffic problems.
Temecula’s City Council held a 9 hour meeting that ended Wednesday morning 3:34 AM. The final vote was 4 to allow the construction and 0 against.
The Islamic Center has been around since 1998 and serves about 150 families.
